This newsletter will be a documentation of an experimental self-guided education program, Modular Generalist Program (MoGenPro), aimed at establishing a coarse-grain, panoramic understanding of almost everything.
It’s been through a couple iterations already, and has been tightened up significantly, but still has a ways to go.
In addition to documenting MoGenPro, this newsletter may also involve basic coverage of a variety of topics, providing basic or advanced insights for anyone looking for a digest lesson.
The premise of MoGenPro is that of an interdisciplinary network effect, that knowing the basics of a variety of topics may yield novel insights to complement the research of specialists. It may even allow for expedited expertise, metaphor being an emergent phenomenon between topics, but at the very least it will allow for some intriguing new perspectives.
It doesn’t seem outlandish to claim that we as a species could have much to gain from having a few more generalists among us.
I’m 23 years old, and I believe in a balance of science and gnosis, a balance which I hope this project will embody.
